the end game here is inflate gpas and lsat scores to such an extent that the granularity totally disappears and you can just admit discriminatorily with no evidence. If 2x people are scoring 175 plus it elims the need for explicit aa policy

Hey, does anyone know why SMU (Dedman) is absent from the most recent rankings list? It's present at #55 in the 2024 published 2023 but the most recent one its completely gone from even though it was ranked #45. Their page on here also hasn't been updated since 2023. It looks like they have all their updated 509 info posted so I'm not sure what happened

@HeadyInvincibleRabbit: Preferred is who they need to admit in order for their stats to stay high. Regular is they actually liked you as a person. Most likely they will pull from the stats people more but every once in a while they will pull from the cool person waitlist. There is a difference.

@NYU2025: that’s correct with a slight tweak. They definitely will pull from the preferred waitlist more, and if the school waitlists you and informs you that you’re not on the preferred list, take them at their word and plan on not being admitted to that school. Yes, they liked you. Yes, it’s possible they’ll still admit you, but it’s very unlikely. Focus your energy on other schools with non-preferred waitlists or on submitting new apps.
