Apply early and write the supplemental essays; even though they’re tedious, they’ll help you have a better chance of acceptance and scholarships.

Admitted to University of CincinnatiAsk your recommenders months ahead of September. I didn’t get my second letter submitted until after the new year despite asking in August, and it hurt my scholarship and admissions chances. If you’re a splitter, target splitter friendly schools and write optional essays. In the end, I went with the school that gave…
Apply wide. Really wide. Embarrassingly wide. Then let the dust settle and make the smartest boring decision available. Prestige is a fine thing until you’re paying for it with money you don’t have chasing outcomes that aren’t guaranteed. The humble path taken confidently beats the prestigious path taken anxiously…
LSAT 155 GPA 2.80 2025–26 cycle
Attending (Part-time) University of Dayton
I took the JD Next and got a 765, which was the 72nd percentile in my cohort. I didn’t do so well during my first two years in community college due to homelessness, so I got a 2.1 gpa. When I transferred to FIU, I did much better and graduated with a 3.65 gpa, cum laude. Unfortunately, LSAC rounded my gpa to a 2.8…
Do not screw up the LSAT. I mean it. I thought my softs could carry me but they couldn’t. My 158 killed me. Suspecting that’s the cause of my overwhelming WL results. I’m happy to attend the school I am, but because of my low LSAT, the schools that admitted me offered me little to no scholarships. Apply to schools…
Shoot your shot! Leave no stone uncovered and The one thing that helped me the most in my application was creating a strong narrative. My personal statement, additional essays, and resume all created a cohesive and powerful story as to why I wanted to be a lawyer! It helped me land specific program scholarships that…

LSAT 167 GPA 3.67 2023–24 cycle
Attending Indiana University - Bloomington
Ask for fee waivers everywhere- , no matter what your stats are. I didn’t pay a single application fee and saved hundreds of dollars. This is a fairly predictable game. You don’t need more than 2-3 safety schools. I wasted time working on so many applications to places that I wouldn’t even want to attend. LSAT Demon…

Some schools will see the value you bring through your application and some won’t. Some schools that you thought were guarantees, aren’t. Some schools you thought were a longshot, weren’t. Have faith in the process and know you’ll end up where you are meant to be. Peace and Love
Took the LSAT once and used Khan Academy and Mike Kim’s LSAT Trainer to study. No significant work experience except for an on-campus part-time job. Wrote a PS about my experiences growing up as an immigrant, no DS. Wrote a “Why X” and supplemental essays when recommended.
Wrote Why X and Leadership Essays for everywhere I could! Relevant government and university work experience throughout undergrad Big 10 Undergrad I had COVID and my dad was in the hospital w it when I took LSAT, probably should’ve written an addendum
Make your supplemental materials (Resume, Cover Letter, Essays, etc.) as strong as possible. These could be the difference between scholarship amounts.
The best experience, job, or extracurricular is one that involves helping others. The common mantra is “Don’t set yourself on fire to keep others warm,” but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t carry an extra blanket to offer.
Keep taking the LSAT. And take it in-person. I went 162 -> 168 -> 167 -> 168 -> 175. The last one was the only one I didn’t take at home or in a stupid hotel. Remote test-taking sucks. Go to the testing place.
Electrical Engineer that worked a couple internships and worked at Raytheon for a year & a half. Planning on becoming a patent attorney. Hopefully this profile can help other STEM majors getting into law!

I don’t have a whole lot to say except apply early and know most schools probably won’t give you a decision in the scheduled time they tell you. Waitlists aren’t the end of the world either!
