You can do anything, anyone who says differently is projecting. I’m a big believer in open source so I am here to be a data point. I also believe that inherently without having a detailed profile of an applicant, you cannot possibly understand why they got into the school. We are all so much more than numbers. This…

The best time to apply is January/February if you have good stats. Circumstances forced me to apply in March - weeks after deadlines for most schools. I fared well enough, in some cases receiving acceptances and waitlists before people who applied in October! That being said, I know my chances at T-14 schools would…
Took LSAT three times 168 -> 174 -> 180 I only took the LSAT a third time because I had already registered for the test. By the time I got my 174, it was too late to receive a refund for the next test. Wrote Why Berkeley, Why Cornell Wrote Challenge/Adversity Statement at Penn, Columbia, Yale, Michigan Wrote library…
Writing this after I got slaughtered on 4/22… here are my takeaways for the 2020-2021 cycle. Applying in Feb was too late. Like way too late. As in many schools didn’t accept ANY students who applied this late. It seems that everyone and their mother has a killer LSAT score. GPA matters a lot more than usual. But…
Attended military college. Applied for (and received) an Education Delay from my branch of service; will do mandatory service obligation after LS. Hope my info helps anyone with similar stats (low LSAT + high GPA). Timeline: 1NOV23: Apps submitted to all schools except Louisville, UT, Oklahoma, and Miss 10NOV:…
For the sake of my mental health. I did not check my status checkers for UR1,UR2. Also, my “application complete” dates are incorrect because I mistook “completed” for “received”
Apply as early as you can with your best foot forward Write every optional - if you don’t have anything to say, you don’t want to go there and shouldn’t apply Actually visit - I thought I was in love with one school until I saw it and hated it And most importantly… Being interesting pays off!I did not have a…
Start writing your essays early. Write them. Then don’t look at them for a month. Then go back and write them again. You’ll be surprised with how much better they come out!
Consider retaking the LSAT and reapplying next cycle if you’re not happy with your results this time around. That’s what I did, and it’s worked out splendidly. :)
I didn’t update the dates in my chart, so take those with some salt. All applications sent in mid-late October, except Berkeley and NYU, which were sent in late November. I applied to too many schools, clearly. I don’t think it negatively impacted the quality of my applications, but I would recommend being more…
If you have a low GPA and want to get into a reach school, give the LSAT everything you have, even if you have to take it 3+ times. I think I left a few points on the table because I didn’t study as long as I should have, so don’t do that. Put a lot of effort into addendums (if you have a valid reason). Schools are…
T3 based on LSD’s definition - At the time of submitting apps I had 3.5 years of consistent legal employment at one firm. One LOR from boss and one from former professor. First-gen college. Looking back, I would have put more time into my writing pieces. In this crazy cycle, I believe stronger writing could have…
You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.
Reapplying for 2022-23 cycle with a higher LSAT Results from 2021-22 cycle with 168 LSAT: NYU (1/14/22): hold, rejected- Cornell (1/3/22): rejected Northwestern (1/12/22): rejected WashU (12/13/21): rejected Boston U (1/3/22): waitlist, rejected Vanderbilt (1/14/22): waitlist, rejected UMinnesota (12/15/21):…
It’s better to have a higher LSAT score than applying early and February is NOT too late to take the LSAT! I applied in November 2023 w/ a 154 LSAT and then decided to put my applications on hold to retake the LSAT in Feb. FSU accepted me w/ my 154 and I sent my Feb score (159) to the schools I put on hold and was…
As a reapplicant “I would go 0-30 before I would go 0-9. 0-9 means you beat yourself, you psyched yourself out of the game.”
makingcashwithmyhandout left no wisdom for posterity… (◕︵◕) Ran out tbh frfr take time on essays. I feel I rushed a lil and found mistakes upon reviewing. I also found out i got cheated on a week before apps opened and that SUCKED. #noregerts but i was lowkey submitting apps while manic maybe?? beware on who you let…
