Know ur worth and have fun >.< Congressional intern, involved with various campus organizations, honors college, connected with sorority (TLAM), 3.88 degree GPA @state school (boomer sooner), sent in additional rec. letters, only made why statement to GW and schools that required it.
Wrote Why X’s most places that asked and some that didn’t. For anyone looking in from the future, this cycle was incredibly competitive. My only advice is to apply broadly; I was accepted below median at UT and waitlisted at median at Notre Dame. All it takes is one school.
The best decision I made was choosing to work for a few years between undergrad and applying for law school. My softs, my writing skills, my interview skills, and my perspective all changed for the better because I had gained real world, professional experience.
i am brutally honest in my addenda and personal statements. im big, queer, and have had brushes with the law; there’s no sugarcoating that, and so i dont try to. Also I sent Yale a TikTok instead of doing their ‘college activities’ thing.
I changed majors my junior year from physics to international relations at which point my gpa average for the next two years was 3.86. Have a masters degree from University of South Carolina with full ride and fellowship 4.0.
Wrote “Why X”’s for my top choice schools, diversity statements when they were accepted (not a URM but Southeast Asian), and a GPA addendum. Initially applied with 15high LSAT. Retook in January with current score.
Trust me. Apply early. I was told by several schools that if I had applied earlier in the cycle they would have had a place for me. Don’t procrastinate something that will impact your whole future.
I am a First-generation American and have been working as a paralegal in Big Law since right after graduation. I applied as early as I could in the cycle, which I think helped.
Apply broadly, especially if your a splitter. Got rejected by safeties and accepted by reaches. Worth the $45 now for the potentially of tens of thousands in the future.
Took the LSAT twice. First take got 168; Second take got 169. I was accepted to ASU, OU, and WashU with a 168. I was accepted to all others with a 169.
NO DEBT = NO STRESS! also, lsat and gpa aren’t everything…i know its hard to believe
Refreshing your status checker over and over won’t make admissions come up with a decision any sooner ;) Good luck!!!
“What’s the penalty for being late?” “Death” “What’s the penalty for rebellion?” “Death” “Well, we’re already late.”
Rejections provide opportunity for reflection and motivation for improvement. 💪 Take care of yourselves, friends!
Filled out all application materials/essays. Took about three months to write my personal statement myself.
Apply to more schools than you think and you never know what will happen and your first choice may change!
