General advice: Talk to lots of attorneys about their experiences to set expectations Listen to admissions & law-related podcasts to get your head in the game Help others going through the process Make spreadsheets to track everything (applications, cups of coffee with attorneys, LSAT prep, etc.) Beware of Reddit.…

Admitted to University of MarylandDrink an entire Pipeline Punch Monster in 7 minutes. Sit the LSAT cold. Forget your locker key so you can’t even have a snack during break. Go home & pass out. Not recommended, but that’s what I did.
Write your “Why X” essays. Make them non-generic. I think it really screwed me that I didn’t do this–going off of Dean Z’s advice not to do it unless it was super compelling. ESPECIALLY do it if you’re not from the area. Expect your statistically likely results. It’s easy to fall into the mental trap of thinking…
If you are first gen law school applicant, take a year to learn about application process, then apply early in the following cycle. I would have changed so many things knowing what I know now. Also, I wouldn’t listen too much to the “shoot your shot” advice. In my experience with good softs (imho), I didn’t get in…
talk about yourself!! scores aren’t everything :)) but also weigh your long-term goals/dream city against any debt you take out. I have friends in BL who are trapped there by loans
Don’t be afraid to retake and reapply! It’s about getting the right deal, not school at all costs. See exoplanetary-lawyer for my reapplicant profile. I can’t hide last cycle’s results on my personal page so I made a new account. This account is kept for austerity and because it’s a real data point for the cycle.
Don’t doubt your abilities, also NEVER read your essays after submitting.
I went to Maryland Law for my 1L year (2022-2023) and then transferred doing the early decision program to Georgetown for 2L/3L (2023-2025). I had a 3.8ish GPA from Maryland (top 15% or so) when I applied to transfer. I got into Georgetown and GW as a transfer student! Go Hoyas 🐾💙🤪
LSAC slaughtered my GPA (how the fuck do withdrawals count?). My LSAC GPA is actually sub-2. Degree GPA is 3.1. I wrote a really nice addendum. LSAT Strategy- I had an extremely demanding job while studying for LSAT. I’m fine at LR and RC, so I just spent all possible time doing logic games over and over and over…
Advice: This is not just a numbers game. You can set yourself apart in other ways and it will be essential when shopping in the T-25 or better range. URM boost is real, but I believe my extracurriculars and unique WE carried heavy. Don’t blanket the T-14, blanket the T-30/50/75. Give yourself realistic options with…
Use a study method that works for you. I Started with 7sage but felt that it was lacking. I switched to LSAT Demon and everything clicked.Listen to what your study program teaches but don’t be afraid to adjust It took a couple of adjustments before I felt that the test made sense. LSAT Demon (and many others) preach…
A J.D. is a J.D. You are not any lesser of an attorney if you don’t get into a T14. The world will take you where you’re meant to be, even if it’s not Harvard or Yale. Stop fighting to be the greatest. Start working to be the happiest.
LSAT 152 GPA 3.80 2025–26 cycle

Don’t check your email everyday for decisions…just relax because this is to stressful anyways.
“ Men give me credit for some genius. All the genius I have lies in this; when I have a subject in hand, I study it profoundly. Day and night it is before me. My mind becomes pervaded with it. Then the effort that I have made is what people are pleased to call the fruit of genius. It is the fruit of labor and…
My best advice is to apply anyways. Breathe and remember you’re more than your scores and resume. Take your time and be thoughtful with your essays (I had to convince myself that the expectation is not originality but rather authenticity when it comes to whatever you write). Focus deeply on submitting application…
Splitter Advice Apply to less schools- : if you’re hesitant about living somewhere, it might not be the right fit. Tell your story, focus on the highs- : if you spend a paragraph in an addendum describing adverse circumstances from undergrad, spend a paragraph describing how you bounced back and put yourself in a…
We’re all in this together. Wishing everyone the best luck! Remember that your mental health is important
Do safeties first, priorities second. Your essays will improve over time, so you’ll want to make sure you’re at your prime when those target applications go out.
