Long recap below ordered by: Biographical, LSAT, Softs, PS, Applications. Summary: Had inconsistent results, but such is the life of a splitter. Apply broadly, study as hard as you can for the LSAT, and emphasize how you’ll fit into a school. I thought I was more likely to get into Cornell than UMich or NW, so 1.)…

Admitted to University of Alabama…but I don’t think it went well overall. I think my softs outside of what I wrote my PS about were pretty weak, and that probably hurt me the most. I don’t think good writing can overcome mediocre softs, or at least not in 2024. Being a splitter didn’t help either, but I’ve seen enough people with my stats get better…
No unique softs, UF undergrad
…CSU and double majored in English and Philosophy Tier 3 softs: 3 years working at a literary journal (1 year as a junior editor, 1 year as senior editor / lead designer, 1 year as editor in chief), student in Honors college, published author, presented at an honors capstone conference. Overview: I came into the cycle hopeful about my softs, but honestly, they only care about numbers lol >.<!! So, if you can, definitely retake the LSAT (preferably 160 and up) or win competitive scholarships [i.e., MMSP, Mcdonnell, Earl Warren, SEO Law, etc.]. Don’t get me wrong; I was super proud of myself for…

Essays + Additional Info Yale - Y250 on niche issue of academic interest HLS - KJ1 off the WL. Decided to withdraw after I interviewed off the WL, I’m set on UVA! UPenn - Core…
LSAT 171 GPA 3.91 2020–21 cycle
Attending Washington University in St. Louis
Combination of T2/T3 softs with relevant work experience in a niche interest. Applied as soon as applications opened for each school and received decisions during first wave except for NYU, Yale, and Stanford.
Applied to every school under the sun because I was hunting that sweet $$$$. Take advantage of fee waivers. No special softs, but strong public service resume, solid recommendations, and creative essay topic. Proud to have two T14 A’s in the cycle from hell.
Softs matter. Shoot your shot! Blanket the T20, especially if you’re a splitter or reverse splitter. If a $45 CAS fee gets you an extra acceptance or even $50 extra in scholarship money it’s worth it. All fee waivers unsolicited except Berkeley and UW. Wrote all optional essays. Also unsolicited Why X for CLS, UVA,…
…Plan to negotiate. 1/29-2/2 - UNC hold, which feels like a soft WL based on last year’s data. – TAMU WL… – BC WL… – IU negotiation did not work :/ 2/5-2/9 - no decisions, applied for UCI PSS. 2/19-2/23 - OSU A, scholly coming later. 2/26-3/1 - Emory A w/ $$$. 3/4-3/8 - OSU scholly ($$$) came 3/7. – UWisc II, seems…
