Simple English definitions for legal terms

child pornography

Read a random definition: Napoleonic Code

A quick definition of child pornography:

Child pornography is when pictures or videos show a person under 18 years old doing sexual things. This is not allowed by the law and people who share or make these pictures or videos can get in trouble with the police. Even if the pictures or videos are not very bad, they are still not allowed. Sometimes, people make pictures or videos using computers that look like a child, but it is not a real child. This is also not allowed.

A more thorough explanation:

Definition: Child pornography is material that depicts a person under the age of 18 engaged in sexual activity. Pornography, in general, refers to material such as writings, photographs, or movies that depict sexual activity or erotic behavior in a way that is designed to arouse sexual excitement. Pornography is protected speech under the First Amendment unless it is determined to be legally obscene. However, child pornography is not protected by the First Amendment, even if it falls short of the legal standard for obscenity. Those directly involved in its distribution can be criminally punished.

  • A photograph of a 15-year-old girl engaged in sexual activity with an adult.
  • A video of a 12-year-old boy masturbating.
  • Virtual child pornography, which includes a computer-generated image that appears to be a minor engaged in sexual activity but that in reality does not involve a person under the age of 18.

The examples illustrate that child pornography involves material that depicts minors engaged in sexual activity. It is important to note that child pornography is illegal and those involved in its distribution can face criminal charges. Virtual child pornography is also illegal, even though it does not involve a real minor.

I mean, idk how it's possible to end birth right citizenship without amending the constitution because to me the 14th amendment is pretty clear about it.
ross ulbricht tried to hire a hitman to kill 5 people
i am not that sympathetic to him

@KnowledgeableRitzyWasp: That might have been an FBI agent. It was most likely him and he was most likely doing it to retrieve stolen funds that corrupt FBI agents stole, but yeah moral gray area but me personally, cool with hitmen. It's not like it is uncommon to hire hitmen. I don't think the action itself is necessarily wrong but the intent behind it can be.

Like, Boeing whistblowers being killed by hitmen = wrong but a guy hiring hitmen to retrieve stolen funds = good to me.

@Dkk: Yeah, for sure. My guess is it'll go to SCOTUS and it'll be 8-1 or 7-2, saying that EO was unconstitutional.

Indeed. I need a count for how many exectuive orders he has signed and how many already have pending lawsuits.
