criminal registration

Read a random definition: abstract of judgment

A quick definition of criminal registration:

Definition: Criminal registration is when someone who has committed a crime has to tell the police their name and other information. This is required in some places for people who have been in jail or prison. Some states have very strict laws about this for people who have committed certain types of crimes, like sex offenses. It helps the police keep track of people who might be a danger to others.

A more thorough explanation:

Definition: Criminal registration is the requirement in some communities that any felon who spends any time in the community must register his or her name with the police. This is usually done to keep track of convicted criminals and prevent them from committing further crimes. Since the late 1980s, many states have adopted strict registration laws for convicted sex offenders, known as Megan's Law.

Example: John was convicted of a sex offense and served his time in prison. When he was released, he had to register with the police in his community as a convicted sex offender. This means that he had to provide his name, address, and other personal information to the police, and he had to keep them updated if he moved or changed jobs. Failure to register could result in additional criminal charges.

Explanation: This example illustrates how criminal registration works in practice. John was required to register with the police because he was a convicted sex offender. This allowed the police to keep track of him and monitor his activities to prevent him from committing further crimes. The registration requirement is intended to protect the community from dangerous criminals and help law enforcement agencies do their job more effectively.

I mean, idk how it's possible to end birth right citizenship without amending the constitution because to me the 14th amendment is pretty clear about it.
ross ulbricht tried to hire a hitman to kill 5 people
i am not that sympathetic to him

@KnowledgeableRitzyWasp: That might have been an FBI agent. It was most likely him and he was most likely doing it to retrieve stolen funds that corrupt FBI agents stole, but yeah moral gray area but me personally, cool with hitmen. It's not like it is uncommon to hire hitmen. I don't think the action itself is necessarily wrong but the intent behind it can be.

Like, Boeing whistblowers being killed by hitmen = wrong but a guy hiring hitmen to retrieve stolen funds = good to me.

@Dkk: Yeah, for sure. My guess is it'll go to SCOTUS and it'll be 8-1 or 7-2, saying that EO was unconstitutional.
