ethical

Read a random definition: quasi-judicial

A quick definition of ethical:

Term: ETHICAL

Definition: Ethical means doing what is right and fair. It is about following rules that help us treat others with respect and kindness. For example, a lawyer must follow ethical rules to keep their clients' information private. A judge might recuse themselves from a case if they have a personal connection to someone involved, which is an ethical decision. Being ethical is important in all areas of life, whether it's at school, work, or in our personal relationships.

A more thorough explanation:

Definition: Ethical (adjective) refers to actions or decisions that are in accordance with moral principles or standards of conduct. This can include legal ethics, which are the rules and guidelines that govern the behavior of professionals in the legal field.

Examples:

  • A lawyer has an ethical obligation to keep their client's information confidential.
  • A doctor must follow ethical guidelines when conducting medical research on human subjects.
  • A journalist should not fabricate stories or plagiarize, as it goes against ethical standards of their profession.

These examples illustrate how ethical behavior is guided by moral principles and professional standards. In each case, there is a responsibility to act in a way that is honest, fair, and respectful of others.
