Simple English definitions for legal terms

ledo

Read a random definition: Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act

A quick definition of ledo:

LEDO: The rising water of the sea, also known as neap tide. Tides are the rising and falling of seawater caused by the attraction of the sun and moon. Mean high tide is the average of all high tides, while mean low tide is the average of all low tides. Neap tide is a tide that is lower than average because it occurs during the first or last quarter of the moon. Spring tide is a tide that is higher than average because it occurs during the new moon and full moon.

A more thorough explanation:

Definition: Ledo (lee-doh) is a Latin term used to describe the rising water of the sea, also known as neap tide. Tides are the rising and falling of seawater caused by the gravitational pull of the sun and moon. Neap tides occur during the first and last quarter of the moon when the sun's attraction partly counteracts the moon's, resulting in lower than average tides.

  • During the neap tide, the water level at the shore was lower than usual.
  • The fishermen had to wait for the spring tide to catch more fish.

These examples illustrate how Ledo or neap tide affects the water level at the shore. During neap tide, the water level is lower than average, while during spring tide, it is higher than average. Fishermen have to consider the tides when planning their fishing trips to ensure a good catch.

@mastermonkey45: Looking at some of the recent decisions in relation to when they went complete, I'd say it's a good sign. It seems many declines were sent within about 5-6 weeks of completion. Given those were applications that were SENT in January, I'd say that means you're still solidly in the running. :)

Sent an app to OSU in early december and have STILL not heard back
Give it 4 more weeks at least. Everyone in this chat needs to wait longer.
