A quick definition of literae procuratoriae:

Literae Procuratoriae: This is a fancy Latin term that means "letters of attorney" or "power of attorney." It's a legal document that gives someone else the power to act on your behalf. This person is called an agent or attorney-in-fact. There are different types of powers of attorney, like a general power of attorney that lets the agent do any kind of business for you, or a special power of attorney that limits their authority to a specific matter. A durable power of attorney stays in effect even if you become unable to make decisions for yourself.

A more thorough explanation:

Definition: Literae procuratoriae is a Latin term that refers to letters of procuration or power of attorney. It is a legal document that grants someone the authority to act as an agent or attorney-in-fact for the grantor.

Examples:

  • An ordinary power of attorney is a revocable document that automatically terminates upon the death or incapacity of the principal.
  • A durable power of attorney remains in effect during the grantor's incompetency and commonly allows an agent to make healthcare decisions for a patient who has become incompetent.
  • A general power of attorney authorizes an agent to transact business for the principal.
  • A special power of attorney limits the agent's authority to only a specified matter.
  • A springing power of attorney becomes effective only when needed, at some future date or upon some future occurrence, usually upon the principal's incapacity.

These examples illustrate the different types of power of attorney and how they grant authority to an agent to act on behalf of the principal. For instance, a durable power of attorney is useful in situations where the principal becomes incapacitated and unable to make decisions for themselves. The agent appointed in the power of attorney can make healthcare decisions for the principal in such cases.

@mastermonkey45: Looking at some of the recent decisions in relation to when they went complete, I'd say it's a good sign. It seems many declines were sent within about 5-6 weeks of completion. Given those were applications that were SENT in January, I'd say that means you're still solidly in the running. :)

Sent an app to OSU in early december and have STILL not heard back
