Their role is to provide expertise on the specific laws, court rules, procedures, and local customs of that jurisdiction. They often work in conjunction with the primary legal team (sometimes called "lead counsel") to ensure compliance with local requirements and to make necessary court appearances where admission to the local bar is required.
