local government

Read a random definition: business form

A quick definition of local government:

Local government refers to the group of people who make decisions and rules for a specific area, like a city or county. They are responsible for things like schools, fire departments, and transportation. It's like a smaller version of the government that runs the whole country.

A more thorough explanation:

Definition: Local government refers to the governing body of a specific locality, such as a city or county. It is a lower level of government than the state government and includes special-purpose districts or authorities like school districts, fire districts, and transportation authorities.

Example: The city council of New York City is an example of local government. It is responsible for making decisions and policies that affect the city and its residents, such as budget allocation, public safety, and infrastructure development.

Explanation: Local government is important because it is the closest level of government to the people. It is responsible for addressing the specific needs and concerns of the community it serves. The example of the New York City council illustrates how local government works to make decisions that affect the daily lives of its residents.

The main school I want to go to hasn’t given me a decision yet. I applied in January. Their deposit deadline is April 1. Should I send in a letter of continued interest even though I haven’t heard anything yet? Or should I wait to see if they come forward with a decision?
LOCIs are meant for ppl on the waitlist. Applying in January is pretty late, so no decision yet makes sense
