Simple English definitions for legal terms

obligational

Read a random definition: de aestimato

A quick definition of obligational:

Term: OBLIGATIONAL

Definition: Obligational means the same thing as obligatory. It refers to something that is required or mandatory, either legally or morally. For example, if you make an obligational promise, you are legally bound to keep it. Attendance at a certain event may be obligational, meaning that it is required. Obligational can also refer to creating or recording an obligation, such as in a written contract.

A more thorough explanation:

Definition: Obligational is a synonym of obligatory, which means legally or morally binding. It refers to something that is required or mandatory, or creates or records an obligation.

Examples:

  • Signing a contract is an obligational act, as it creates a legal obligation between the parties involved.
  • Attending the meeting is obligatory for all team members, as it is required for the success of the project.
  • Donating to charity is not obligational, but it is a moral obligation for those who have the means to help others.

The examples illustrate how obligational refers to something that is binding or required, either legally or morally. In the first example, signing a contract creates a legal obligation. In the second example, attending the meeting is mandatory for the success of the project. In the third example, donating to charity is not legally required, but it is a moral obligation for some people.

@mastermonkey45: Looking at some of the recent decisions in relation to when they went complete, I'd say it's a good sign. It seems many declines were sent within about 5-6 weeks of completion. Given those were applications that were SENT in January, I'd say that means you're still solidly in the running. :)

Sent an app to OSU in early december and have STILL not heard back
