These laws aim to protect individuals from unwanted and potentially harmful communications and activities conducted through various electronic means.

A more thorough explanation:

Rhode Island has laws that regulate commercial email, telemarketing, fax anti-solicitation, and computer-related crime.

Rhode Island's law on commercial email and spam is found in R.I. Gen. Laws § 6-47-2. This law prohibits sending unsolicited commercial email or spam to Rhode Island residents.

Example: A company sends an email to a Rhode Island resident advertising their products without the resident's permission. This is a violation of Rhode Island's law on commercial email and spam.

Rhode Island's law on telemarketing and telephonic anti-solicitation is found in R.I. Gen. Laws §§ 5-61-1 et seq. (Telephone Sales Solicitation Act). This law requires telemarketers to identify themselves and their purpose for calling, and prohibits them from calling Rhode Island residents who have registered on the National Do Not Call Registry.

Example: A telemarketer calls a Rhode Island resident and does not identify themselves or their purpose for calling. This is a violation of Rhode Island's law on telemarketing and telephonic anti-solicitation.

Rhode Island's law on fax anti-solicitation is found in R.I. Gen. Laws § 6-47-1. This law prohibits sending unsolicited faxes to Rhode Island residents.

Example: A company sends a fax to a Rhode Island resident advertising their products without the resident's permission. This is a violation of Rhode Island's law on fax anti-solicitation.

Rhode Island's law on computer-related crime is found in R.I. Gen. Laws §§ 11-52-1, 11-52-4.1, 11-52-6. This law prohibits various computer-related crimes, such as hacking, computer fraud, and identity theft.

I mean, idk how it's possible to end birth right citizenship without amending the constitution because to me the 14th amendment is pretty clear about it.
ross ulbricht tried to hire a hitman to kill 5 people
i am not that sympathetic to him

@KnowledgeableRitzyWasp: That might have been an FBI agent. It was most likely him and he was most likely doing it to retrieve stolen funds that corrupt FBI agents stole, but yeah moral gray area but me personally, cool with hitmen. It's not like it is uncommon to hire hitmen. I don't think the action itself is necessarily wrong but the intent behind it can be.

Like, Boeing whistblowers being killed by hitmen = wrong but a guy hiring hitmen to retrieve stolen funds = good to me.

@Dkk: Yeah, for sure. My guess is it'll go to SCOTUS and it'll be 8-1 or 7-2, saying that EO was unconstitutional.

Indeed. I need a count for how many exectuive orders he has signed and how many already have pending lawsuits.
