A quick definition of youth shelter:

A youth shelter is a safe place for young people who have run away from home or have nowhere else to go. It is a place where they can stay for a short time and get help to find a more permanent solution. Some youth shelters also offer training and support to help young people become independent and successful in the future. It is different from a jail or detention center and is meant to provide a safe and supportive environment for young people in need.

A more thorough explanation:

A youth shelter is a residential facility that provides a safe place for young people who are homeless or have run away from home. These shelters are usually operated by private or public organizations and offer temporary accommodation for a short period of time.

  • A young person who has run away from home can go to a youth shelter to find a safe place to stay.
  • Homeless young people can also stay at a youth shelter to have a roof over their heads.
  • Some youth shelters offer long-term transitional training to help young people leave street life and become independent.

These examples illustrate how youth shelters provide a safe haven for young people who are in need of temporary accommodation. They offer a place to stay, food, and other services such as counseling and medical care. Youth shelters also provide a supportive environment where young people can receive guidance and training to help them transition to independent living.
