Pay only selective attention to the talkative, anxious posters on Reddit. There’s some good data there, but that community attracts the most deranged / needy individuals on planet Earth. Start earlier! Get letters of rec as soon as you can - that took the longest for me.

Admitted to Mitchell HamlineTrust Jesus and ask him to be in your life! He will get you into your dream school and He got me into Harvard law. It was my dream for years, and it was an impossible, unreachable, depressing, and unrealistic goal. But if He is truly God, then the impossible for us is simply nothing for him. Ask him to show you…
IF I CAN DO IT, SO CAN YOU. If you are going to a regional school. Don’t look at rank, look at the school with the best connections to the job market you want.
Went through A TON during my undergrad hence my GPA. I refuse to let it stop me and you shouldn’t either. I also had a fee wavier for all schools, hence why I applied to so many. Now wishing I didn’t….
🏳️⚧️🏳️🌈 Before actually deciding to apply to law school, I would recommend these 4 steps: Read this: http://www.deanspade.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/For-Those-Considering-Law-School.pdf Really think about if your goals in being a lawyer align with actual legal work. If you have social justice goals in going to law…

Send e-mails out to schools asking for application fee waivers AND CAS waivers. Of my 9 schools, two gave me a CAS waiver (which costs the school money). That’s a $90 savings just for asking! Apply to outside scholarships. Make it a goal to apply to a new scholarship every week. I have already got $14, 000 just from…

There’s not a cheat code, study the test but also spend time reading dense and complex material and learning logic – you want to eventually be a lawyer, after all. You don’t need to apply everywhere. Don’t check this site 20 times per day like I did. Get help with your…
Shoot your shot, you never know which law school will value your background, and likewise which law school will be the best home for you to thrive intellectually. I say this as someone whose undergrad GPA falls well below the median of most of the T14. However I have cultivated a career for myself and additional…
Apply broadly splitters and February is the latest I’d suggest applying. Pour your heart and soul into your writing but don’t be too negative or whiny. Vulnerability and candor go a long way into humanizing yourself as an applicant and will give you some more leeway with the empathetic side of adcomms. also, it…
Do the right thing Be kind to others Help those who cannot help themselves
I genuinely had no idea if I could even get into law school, but its possible!
Don’t worry about the prestige and the rankings. It matters so much less than you think. Go to the school that fits you.
Just keep swimming. Just keep swimming.
Although both UMN and GWU were tempting, the Iowa offer was too good to pass up. I didn’t want to sit around on waitlists and I reconciled a slightly lower ranking for $$$$
