…email with the acceptance and there was no mention of a scholarship in the email. The following day I checked my application portal again and saw that I received the Dean’s Merit Scholarship under the “Scholarships” section of the tracker all the way at the bottom of the page. The scholarship was for $40,000 per…

Admitted to University of Miami…Maybe withdrawing was premature. I already had the full scholarship from Miami and the half scholarship from FSU. Applying early and broadly helps! Miami was running out of scholarship money and people with higher stats started getting smaller scholarships in the spring. They also took about two months to send the…

…the next day saying it was a mistake. Felt like a lowball scholarship considering my other offers. UMiami: Had to wait until February for scholarship. Heard they don’t negotiate but try to give best offer first. Was surprised by how much it was but I wrote a strong essay for why I was interested in the program. Penn…
…received the A for Baylor some weeks later and got a HUGE scholarship for my stats. I KNOW it is because of my mock trial experience, including a top placement at a Baylor Mock Trial event. The conditionality of the scholarship, + the intensity of 3L, +employment outcomes, + the cut throat culture eventually turned…
Reverse Splitter that ended up with a good number of waitlists. All in all, my cycle went well, and I got scholarship money at every single school that accepted me. One thing to note, if you’re LSAT is on the lower end like mine, EVERYTHING matters. Your Personal statement, your recommendations, your why x essay,…
…up committing to GW after a couple back and forth for scholarship negotiations. Did decent 1L, Landed Biglaw SA in NYC, at V20…. Transferring ED to CLS starting my 2L fall. NEVER BACK DOWN, NEVER WHAT?
…on my essays were a large factor in my acceptances and scholarships, as well as applying early (in October/early November). If an essay is optional, do it. Schools expect you to complete all writing questions to demonstrate that you have true interest in attending. I picked Emory due to the fact that I wanted to…
…Podcast PowerScore (they did incredible one-offs on scholarship reconsideration and some other important topics) Apply broadly, I mean broadly. Reaches, targets, and safeties. And on the reaches/targets side, apply to schools you’re not even interested in because if they offer you aid, you’ll be able to **leverage…
…environmental programs. Virginia came in with the lowest scholarship offer of any of my acceptances, and UCLA was just a little too far away from home, so it became a battle between Duke and Michigan. My parents earned graduate degrees at Duke, so I was certainly leaning in that direction, but Michigan just felt…
Scholarships are weird and take a long time for some schools. Be patient and do good research to see which schools are historically generous with aid. Did not have much luck negotiating but I only tried for the University of Maryland.
-Non-URM SA Hispanic -save your money and do not aply to schools you would not go to unless you can use their acceptance to your advantage for scholarship purposes. -Good luck❤ All glory to God
Apply to any and every school you have an interest in (ask for fee waivers), see which schools accept you, weigh the scholarships with the prestige that each school carries, and then make the best decision for your future.
My first acceptance came about 12 days after submitting most of my applications! It was a big confidence boost, but I am skeptical of the conditional scholarship and the employment rate of the school.
