Don’t deny yourself before the school can do it for you. You have to be willing to face failure to reap success. (GhoodGirl2Harvard on reddit to see any previous advice; likely not currently active on account for current questions)

Admitted to Vanderbilt University“The only time a lawyer can cry is when it’s all over.” – Diego Armando I stressed myself out way too much over this process, agonizing over how many recommendations to send to each school, which optional essays to complete, etc. My advice is to not do that. If a school is willing to accept 3 or 4 recommendation…
as I’ve been saying to all my friends: IT’S NOT OVER TILL IT’S OVER!!!! You absolutely have a chance at that school up until getting an R—stay sane, and remember that sometimes the cycle is just slow!
Just remember, time is not linear. Your law school of choice has already been decided, you just haven’t gotten to it yet. Relax, and enjoy the ride.
I started this page to keep family and friends updated on the admissions process, but am keeping public incase it might provide any helpful info to others!
refreshing this website cannot be your only hobby please go play some baseball or something. have everyone read your essays. make sure they aren’t nice about it. it’s like pulling teeth sometimes but you need them to tell you everything you can improve on. apply broadly and apply early. financial aid matters way…
Update 05.11: no, Penn is not a better law school than Harvard. Please look at employment stats over USWNR. Please be aware of regionality issues. #happyrankingsday More accumulated advice: https://www.reddit.com/r/lawschooladmissions/comments/qf400l/machos_guide_to_admissions_an_effortpost_by_a/ I am remarkably…
Top-Line Advice (for what it’s worth): -Be authentic, trust your gut. -Don’t waste time trying to write what you think admissions officers want to hear. -Don’t count yourself out of anywhere. -Work for a while before going to law school. LSAT: -Took a lot of practice tests and reviewed wrong answers extensively.…
Definitely the right decision to take the money, hurt like hell turning down HLS/SLS though. But Philly is great, the people Penn are fantastic—they all keep pushing “collegiality” but it is a real thing here—and the job opportunities are pretty much the same either way. Advice: don’t neglect your recommendation…
Your essays and narrative DO matter. Do not let your LSAT score define your file. Admissions reads so much of the same thing over and over - really think about what makes you unique and tell them what you will contribute to the student body.
“I have no idea where this will lead us, but I have a definite feeling it will be a place both wonderful and strange.”

Don’t let the negativity get you down! There was so much negativity around me from the moment I started sharing I wanted to go to law school up until now (So much gatekeeping energy). The way so many voices seemed to say only stats matter or implied my story wouldn’t cut it made me so nervous. However, even if…
Your personal statement is your gold. Also, I highly recommend doing social work or something adjacent to it prior to law school. You learn a ton about how the law interacts with vulnerable people at systemic and individual levels, and it makes for a great narrative. I think that’s what gave me the edge in…
If you underperformed your stats, play the waitlist game!!! You can differentiate yourself from other applicants by doing as much as possible during the pre-1L summer. Get an internship in an unrelated field, get a job, volunteer, just do something. As you can see, I received zero T20 acceptances and was waitlisted…
Not breaking into the 170s was actually, in fact, not the end of the world! Be confident in your narrative and humble in your expectations and the application process will be full of happy surprises :)
