Simple English definitions for legal terms

preventive injunction

Read a random definition: separatio bonorum

A quick definition of preventive injunction:

A preventive injunction is a court order that stops someone from doing something that could cause harm in the future. It is used to prevent a loss or injury from happening before it occurs. To get a preventive injunction, the person asking for it must show that there is no other way to prevent the harm and that it would be irreparable if it happened. This type of injunction is different from a reparative injunction, which is used to fix something that has already happened.

A more thorough explanation:

A preventive injunction is a court order that is designed to prevent a loss or injury in the future. It is a type of injunction that is used to stop something from happening before it occurs.

For example, if a company is planning to build a factory that will pollute a nearby river, a preventive injunction could be issued to stop the construction of the factory before it begins. This type of injunction is used to prevent harm from occurring in the first place.

Another example of a preventive injunction is a restraining order that is issued to prevent someone from stalking or harassing another person. The injunction is designed to prevent harm from occurring in the future by stopping the behavior before it escalates.

Overall, a preventive injunction is a powerful tool that can be used to prevent harm from occurring in the first place. It is an important legal remedy that can be used to protect individuals and communities from harm.

@mastermonkey45: Looking at some of the recent decisions in relation to when they went complete, I'd say it's a good sign. It seems many declines were sent within about 5-6 weeks of completion. Given those were applications that were SENT in January, I'd say that means you're still solidly in the running. :)

Sent an app to OSU in early december and have STILL not heard back
Give it 4 more weeks at least. Everyone in this chat needs to wait longer.
