Admissions is about distinguishing yourself from others. So do this in any way possible, whether that’s through a high LSAT, unusual resume, or interesting personal statement. Basically, do everything in your power to make the admissions officer remember YOU (in a good way) out of the stack of 40 files they just read.
No optional essays or “Why X.” Used Khan Academy, LSAT SuperPrep II book, and YouTube to study and used my roommate to proofread my application. Still waiting on Howard University to get back to me…. I am in my last semester of law school. Also, if you are interested in Public Interest (NGOs, Government, etc.) please check out the Public Student Loan Forgiveness Program (PSLF)! It makes large amounts of debt doable. Talk to the school’s financial aid office!

I applied knowing that I wanted to go to school in the triangle (Duke or UNC) and the rest of my applications were kind of just for negotiation purposes if I could use them. When I got the WL at Duke, it really stung, but when I got accepted off hold at UNC I was so excited & I can’t wait to be a Tar Heel in the fall.
Suffolk Law - Accelerated J.D. Program (Got status update at like 9:30 AM; E-mail at 4:45 PM). CUNY Law - Received e-mail at 7:00 PM (E-mail and status update at the same time). Hofstra Law - Accepted via status checker at (4:40 PM). Email and scholarship email (they’re two separate emails) two hours later (in spam).

Apply earlier than February. Stop refreshing the status checker and go outside.
Using a quote from an inspiring movie to sum up my application process: “Reach for the skyy” *Woody *(Toy Story) Majority of schools I applied to were T50. Figured it couldn’t hurt to try- all i need is one. I applied to the T14 schools after I was done with my initial applications because again, why not? Glad I did.

Dual credit community college student to online undergrad. Lots of P/F credits through my undergrad. Petty unique academic journey and experiences that turned into a cool narrative. Emory, Michigan, Penn State Dickinson, and ASU I applied to as soon as the apps opened in August, but I could not add that date in.
This was a really difficult cycle. I definitely do not think my stats/outcomes are reflective of how a typical cycle goes. Also: Don’t marry yourself to one university. Apply to many, you will be surprised which ones you end up liking. I did not see myself attending Vanderbilt, but I am so glad I decided to apply.
shoot your shot take a gap year(s) and get experience and raise your score prestige matters but dont do it at the expense of financial sanity believe in yourself get an honest opinion of someone at the school (preferably a 2L or 3L not connected to the admissions outreach process) spellcheck your apps lol

Work super hard during undergraduate. I had a perfect GPA at my degree granting school and joined lots of clubs and had leadership. That made my LSAT score balance out I think so there is hope for people who aren’t as good at standardized tests!
