I had my apps ready in Nov but my LORs didn’t submit till Jan which was really discouraging. I was also scared to ask till July or follow up. get hella eyes on your essays in advance
Enjoy the little things in life. Law school is tough and working in law is no easy journey. The job can be stressful and take a toll on your health. I find that being grateful for the most basic things in life is a great way to manage the stress and intensity and even turn them into positive forms of reinforcement.
I took the GRE. I also spent about 2-3 months editing my essays. Look up real sample essays online for students that got into top schools as a guide for structure. A common theme was overcoming obstacles and vulnerability so don’t be afraid to go deep. In my optional essay I spoke about overcoming family hardships.
Apply early in the cycle. Essays do matter (as evidenced by my results compared to my LSAT). Take care in every aspect of the application and ensure that your package tells a complete, compelling story. Do the optional essays. Be personable in interviews and always convince them that you want to go to their school.

Grad degree from FSU in Information Science, 2 years professional experience as Reference Librarian. Personal statement on importance of research and goal of becoming a law librarian. Feb LSAT was my first, looking for a longshot big scholarship to somewhere this cycle. If not, next cycle is where I’m headed!

Get good letters. I do falconry, ran environmental lobby campaigns in Texas, and have political science & international business degrees. Speak English and Spanish. I credit my success to my falconry/wildlife rehab background and my letters. don’t doubt yourself and don’t compare yourself it gets you nowhere.
I genuinely had no idea if I could even get into law school, but its possible!

No matter your stats, write a genuine personal statement that shows who you are. Some schools care about stats, especially those trying to climb the rankings, but the good ones want to see more than just a number when they evaluate their applicants. Also, apply to reach schools. You never know what could happen.
Don’t apply as late as I did! But if you’re in that boat, don’t panic—there’s always hope for good outcomes. :-) And remember that even if one school has an amazing network or yield for your preferred field and goals, the burden of loan repayment will still significantly limit your future flexibility. -Picking which school is harder than waiting for admission decisions -Write all the essays and make sure you do them well, not halfway and just calling it good enough -Consider how the school fits you more than anything else, because a school may be number one in rank but that doesn’t mean it’s the best for you
Bi, pretty mediocre softs. Research and some student org stuff, all somewhat relevant to my PS topic though. Good LORs Wrote Yale 250 Wrote Stanford Three Songs Why X for Berk, Duke, and Michigan, Core Values for Penn. GULC Top 10 UChi UR3 12/21, UR4 1/18. NYU HTE 1/21 Duke UR3 2/16 GULC date disappeared 1/5.
Apply early and apply often - Don’t be like me and split applications. If you think you’re guaranteed in at any school, think again. Apply to that safety school when you’re putting in all your other apps even if you’re sure you’ll get in somewhere else - scholly negotiations can always benefit from bigger awards.
