talk about yourself!! scores aren’t everything :)) but also weigh your long-term goals/dream city against any debt you take out. I have friends in BL who are trapped there by loans

Admitted to University of PennsylvaniaI am an LSAT Tutor & I review application essays; my DMs are open. If you want to learn more about my study methods, essays, or work with me feel free to reach out! LSAT: I studied for a whole year before the taking the LSAT. The first 3 or so months were chill just learning concepts, then I focused more on drilling…
Don’t use AI. Use your own words. They can tell. Get some work experience. There’s no reason to rush, you’re young. Practice your writing. Take the LSAT writing portion seriously. Apply only to places you can imagine going.
Your personal statement is your gold. Also, I highly recommend doing social work or something adjacent to it prior to law school. You learn a ton about how the law interacts with vulnerable people at systemic and individual levels, and it makes for a great narrative. I think that’s what gave me the edge in…
Hi! I don’t have any crazy advice - I knew I’d have to overcome my (old) GPA, so I got my LSAT as high as possible and spent a ton of time on my essays. Took the LSAT three times, which was clearly worth it. My WE carried my app for sure, so if you’ve got an interesting background, lean into it!
Not breaking into the 170s was actually, in fact, not the end of the world! Be confident in your narrative and humble in your expectations and the application process will be full of happy surprises :)

Applying during the 2024-2025 cycle. Currently in grad school and will update throughout the year. Used fee waivers for all application fees and all but 10 CAS fees. Did not negotiate with any school since most got back to me after I was happy with other offers.
Drink a five-C veggie smoothie (carrots, cucumbers, coriander, cabbages, and celery) mixed with fresh apple juice (add kale if possible) every single morning for your general health and a concentration boost. Subscribe for 7Sage classes (you can get them for $1 if you show financial need) and also get the PowerScore…
Going in, I was so insecure about my GPA, so I made every effort to strengthen the rest of my application. i believe my cycle turned out as strong as it did because I didn’t take any part of the application for granted, especially the essays. Try out first drafts of different potential personal statement topics…
hello there, fellow traveler. I know it feels stupid and annoying to hear me say it now because you’re probably anxious and nervous I was for the past year of my life because of this godforsaken process, but it really will be okay. the universe provides — if you put good into it, good will come back to you. that…
HappySunshineBee left this wisdom for posterity… (◕-◕) Notes on my apps I did ALL supplemental essays- I submitted a GPA addendum (noted health issue & upward trajectory) had a very clear why law & narrative (significant WE directly tied to childhood experience that led me to law) LSAT: 165 > 170 > 174 Submitted…
take everything here and on reddit with a huge enormous grain of salt, and talk to real students/alums and admissions officers. literally no 0L knows what they’re talking about; this is all a chaotic mess of the blind leading the blind with that being said and with the huge disclaimer that i also do not know what…
I solicited need-based fee waivers from Yale and Harvard (denied by Stanford) and merit-based waivers from Georgetown and Berkeley. Berkeley was for Fulbright and Georgetown just the general merit-based waiver, although they reached out later and gave me a CRS waiver anyway. Everywhere else was unsolicited and these…
Tips: Be willing to apply next cycle. For 99% of people, there is no rush, and losing one extra year of being a lawyer won’t ruin your life. I have encountered many students that I tutor who are rushing the entire process and are surprised at the underwhelming offers and results. Do an activity that you love, not…
If you’re still in undergrad, focus on building good relationships with professors who you vibe with. In my personal opinion I think rec letters carry a lot of weight. It’s the only other opinion outside of your own AOs can go off of. Essays are ofc super important. I don’t think think the essay wrote itself over a…
ALRIGHT, CYCLE COMPLETE! I cannot wait to start my legal education at YLS! This cycle went way better than I could have ever imagined (now wishing I didn’t waste so much money on application fees lol). I don’t know if my application advice will be helpful, because who knows what about my application worked well, but…
Your written statements are critical. Outside of gaining you positive admissions results, they are an opportunity to define your dreams! Don’t take this chance lightly. Get some life and work experience after college. You won’t regret it. Take as much time as you need with the LSAT and preparing your application…
