Applicant wisdom

Advice applicants left on their LSD.Law profiles, searchable by topic, school, and stats.

LSAT 163 GPA 3.98 2024–25 cycle

Attending Temple University

Not a bad cycle overall. I got waitlisted more than I was expecting. Some advice: show interest! If you would consider a school and hold it above another school, then go to interest meetings and schedule meetings 1:1 with admissions people.

LSAT 165 GPA 3.57 2021–22 cycle

Attending University of Wisconsin

I rewrote/workshopped/edited every piece of writing for every school. This took me weeks to do, which is why my application dates range from late September late November, but it was completely worth it. Work the heck out of your essays.

LSAT 165 GPA 3.77 2020–21 cycle

Attending Pepperdine University

Shoot your shot, they can’t say yes if you don’t apply. Also, don’t apply to schools you won’t go to even if they send you fee waivers and invitations to apply. It’s a waste of time and energy for everyone, trust me I just did it

LSAT 168 GPA 3.45 2024–25 cycle

Admitted to University of Colorado—Boulder

Withdrew from all red states and HCOL areas post-2024 election. Note: whatever stat they have for the 50th percentile or 25th percentile, remember that means 50% or 25% of people are below that! it could be you! <3

LSAT 159 GPA 3.39 2020–21 cycle

Attending University of Georgia

I highkey sold my trauma, I’d recommend it (Black, queer, nonbinary, trans fam wya?) On a serious note, my story is definitely what sold me to my reach and match schools, if anything. Don’t be scared to show your passion!

LSAT 162 GPA 3.60 2024–25 cycle

Attending University of Washington

Apply to high reach schools even if you know for sure you won’t get in! I regret not applying solely because I will never know for certain. There was obviously something about my app these schools like aside from my stats.

LSAT 170 GPA 3.47 2023–24 cycle

Attending University of Minnesota

If you talk about mental health in your application, make sure you articulate why it will not be a liability to your legal education. This is my third cycle, and I could not be happier with my decision. Go Gophers!

LSAT 175 GPA 2.94 2023–24 cycle

Admitted to Washington University in St. Louis

Keep taking the LSAT. And take it in-person. I went 162 -> 168 -> 167 -> 168 -> 175. The last one was the only one I didn’t take at home or in a stupid hotel. Remote test-taking sucks. Go to the testing place.

LSAT 164 GPA 3.80 2019–20 cycle

Admitted to University of Michigan

Wrote “Why X” essays, had a pretty solid personal statement. LGBTQ. Unsure if URM or not – I’m white and “Canadian Aboriginal,” and schools seem to vary on if I count if I’m not part of a US-recognized tribe.

LSAT 173 GPA 3.40 2023–24 cycle

Admitted to Washington University in St. Louis

Create a vision for your future as early as possible. It doesn’t matter if your plan doesn’t materialize exactly as you expect, none do. However, you won’t get anywhere if you don’t start walking.

LSAT 170 GPA 3.16 2021–22 cycle

Admitted to University of Minnesota

Non-trad, first-gen professional applicant with a background in low-income jobs. Happy to chat with other people in similar situations about the application process — DM on Reddit (same username).

LSAT 160 GPA 3.93 2022–23 cycle

Attending Northwestern University

Don’t apply late if you can, but if you do, believe in yourself and blanket the T14. I was interviewed and waitlisted after applying to Harvard in February. You miss every shot you don’t take ✌🏾

LSAT 161 GPA 3.35 2021–22 cycle

Attending Northwestern University

Unsolicited Fee Waivers from - Ohio State UChicago Duke Alabama GWU (even tho app is free) University of Denver Arizona State University of Utah University of Washington USC Gould NYU Temple

LSAT 164 GPA 3.67 2024–25 cycle

Attending University of Colorado—Boulder

Law school admissions can be stressful and scary, but just getting to this point is a testament to your drive and hard work. Keep pushing and have fun with the process when you can :)
