Admitted to American UniversityI went to Maryland Law for my 1L year (2022-2023) and then transferred doing the early decision program to Georgetown for 2L/3L (2023-2025). I had a 3.8ish GPA from Maryland (top 15% or so) when I applied to transfer. I got into Georgetown and GW as a transfer student! Go Hoyas 🐾💙🤪
I applied later in the cycle. Apply as early as possible then spend your time making connections with admissions offices to bump you off the waiting list. It can be helpful if you have more time (since you applied early) to keep that up and make a thoughtful decision. Waiting until later can be stressful b/c you’re…
I actually completed two cycles and took my LSAT 3 times total. I was extremely excited to apply to UNC and UT– I think it showed in my essays. I didn’t apply early in either cycle (and it likely hurt me). But, I still ended up with great options– if it’s meant to be, it’s meant to be. Deciding between UT and UNC…

I would recommend maybe two or three max. Make sure your personal statement goes back to “Why law school”. I wrote an addendum…
I recommend studying at least 6 months for the LSAT, and like, really studying. If I could do it over, I would have studied all winter/spring and taken it early in the summer. That way you can retake it in late summer/early fall if necessary, and still apply relatively early in the cycle. I would also start jotting…
biggest advice: having a knockout application later is better than a rushed one early!!!!! I worked full time during this whole process and it’s doable, but challenging. Learn from me!! what I’d do differently: I busted my butt and got a million reviews for my PS and statement of perspective, but didn’t spend enough…
