I was trying to get into the “best school” I could, but I realized it’s more important to go where the money is This process is SO unfair. You will end up where you are supposed to, not necessarily where you originally wanted to Don’t settle for less because its a “better school”. I got a full ride !! take the money…
Applicant wisdom
Advice applicants left on their LSD.Law profiles, searchable by topic, school, and stats.
apply as early as possible. and more than anything, believe in yourself. if not you, then who? :) best of luck to you!!!
WISDOM FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS Take this with a grain of salt since I kind of did everything but remained KJD (1) start early college students, if you have a pre law program on campus meet with the advisors sophomore year or very early junior year to let them know this is the path you want to go on and take the…
Obi-Wan Kenobi: You have allowed this dark lord to twist your mind, until now, until now you’ve become the very thing you swore to destroy. Anakin Skywalker: Don’t lecture me, Obi-Wan! I see through the lies of the Jedi. I do not fear the dark side as you do. I have brought peace, freedom, justice, and security to…
Apply for every fee waiver possible in the application process. Half of the schools that I’ve applied to already waived application fees and in other cases, just emailing them prompted an immediate fee waiver. Don’t spend more money than you need to!! Research every LSAT study material that you can. I do recommend…
Apply wide. Really wide. Embarrassingly wide. Then let the dust settle and make the smartest boring decision available. Prestige is a fine thing until you’re paying for it with money you don’t have chasing outcomes that aren’t guaranteed. The humble path taken confidently beats the prestigious path taken anxiously…
The key to overcoming a low GPA comprise of four things: Time out of school (Non-Trad Application)- Separate your current work from your past mistakes Solid LSAT score A legitimate and common sense transcript addendum Memorable Writing Sample It will be hard to write a convincing and solid writing sample if you…
Red eyes, Jon realized, but not like Melisandre’s. He had a weirwood’s eyes. Red eyes, red mouth, white fur. Blood and bone, like a heart tree. He belongs to the old gods, this one. And he alone of all the direwolves was white. Six pups they’d found in the late summer snows, him and Robb; five that were grey and…
It’s almost comical what this application process does to people. Believe in fate.
I heard this a lot before I applied, but I did not listen. Please remember: The admissions process does not define you. Find the best place for you. Not the one that everyone else thinks is best for you.
Scholarships are weird and take a long time for some schools. Be patient and do good research to see which schools are historically generous with aid. Did not have much luck negotiating but I only tried for the University of Maryland.
live, laugh, love (as an act of defiance)
Keep taking the LSAT. And take it in-person. I went 162 -> 168 -> 167 -> 168 -> 175. The last one was the only one I didn’t take at home or in a stupid hotel. Remote test-taking sucks. Go to the testing place.
Let the schools tell YOU no if you have the means to make it rain applications. I strongly suggest 7Sage to study. I also used the LSAT Trainer, and the first 5 pages of the PowerScore Logic games bible.
Do not let /LSAT get you down, stay away from reddit and other places. My GPA sucks and my LSAT isn’t good. Use the other factors in your application to help you out. Do not hesitate to ask for help.
Had awful GPA in teens/20s. Took a decade off from school. Came back with a bunch of work experience and ran off a 4.0 to end my college career despite maintaining a full time job with kids.
This process sucks at times, but in the end things will work out the way they were destined to be. Good Luck with the process!
apply early and apply often. you never know what school will accept you/offer a decent scholarship. also, apply to a wide range of schools, both ranking and location-wise
