I tried to fill my profile as much as possible to be transparent for those of you after me. Admissions is very stressful so here’s a few pointers for those with similar stats/softs/details to me: C and F (probably the biggest fear I had): Own up to it and use it to your advantage. Being willing to be transparent…

Admitted to Drexel Universityyour application is a story you write! Consider all aspects, PS, resume, LoR to tell a specific narrative. I think this helped the most and gave me a chance at schools where I am below the medians. Before the cycle starts, begin signing up for as many conferences and listerv’s to your top schools. That’s how I got…
Apply early. sign up a few different LSAT tests in a row so you can get into a rhythm and feel comfortable with the test. Have a meaningful answer to why you want to go to law school and what you plan on doing with your law degree.
I went to Maryland Law for my 1L year (2022-2023) and then transferred doing the early decision program to Georgetown for 2L/3L (2023-2025). I had a 3.8ish GPA from Maryland (top 15% or so) when I applied to transfer. I got into Georgetown and GW as a transfer student! Go Hoyas 🐾💙🤪
A J.D. is a J.D. You are not any lesser of an attorney if you don’t get into a T14. The world will take you where you’re meant to be, even if it’s not Harvard or Yale. Stop fighting to be the greatest. Start working to be the happiest.
You gotta jump in to swim! When choosing which schools to apply to, I focused on location (mainly the northeast) and maximizing scholarship opportunities/minimizing debt burden. I relied on 509 reports to see which schools are the most generous with scholarships and from there, applied to mostly to schools where I…
took jan LSAT so i have to wait soooo longggg 1/28 - got my score back and it’s a 158… so all this for nothing lol 2/24 - waitlisted at what I thought could be a target, feeling kinda sad 2/26 - first rejection,,, let’s get this over with lol 3/05 - Emory rejection, not surprised anymore but it still sucks 3/09 -…
Money comes and goes… but swag is forever.
Everyone says this, but APPLY EARLY. September/October. I think application timing materially affected my outcomes at OSU, FSU, and Iowa. Get em in by Halloween and you’ll also have most decisions back by Jan.
OVERALL ADVICE: APPLY EARLY EARLY. I felt my applications were submitted almost a little bit late. I wasn’t able to catch the “early” wave. I had a handful of people look over my PS. I would recommend maybe two or three max. Make sure your personal statement goes back to “Why law school”. I wrote an addendum…
Most of what worked for me as a splitter–I assume that’s why you’re reading this–is what you would expect (difficult major + writing ability + significant work experience) and doesn’t lend itself to “advice.” I did, however, think about how to address a downward trend in my grades. My GPA is low because of my final…
After 20 years out of high school, a full professional career, and raising my 18-year-old son as a single mother… I am finally attending law school. I just graduated from undergrad in May 2023, so my journey is very different than most, but my advice is all the same… shoot your shot, especially as a minority or…
Apply early and isolate a compelling narrative through your application. For me, I talked about how a particular undergrad extracurricular cemented my desire to be an attorney. I think the strategic choice of my three recommenders really helped with this. Don’t hesitate to ask for fee waivers, negotiate offers, etc.…
I went into this with no school as my top choice saying that location and money were the most important factors. My biggest advice is quality over quantity. **If you got into only one of your schools, would you be happy to go there? With this in mind, I was still able to apply to reach, target and safety schools…
Attended a large public California school for one year before transferring back home to a smaller liberal arts school in the midwest (regionally well known) -Did have C&F issues regarding drinking citations from my school but not within a year of when I was applying (all from my sophomore year) -Took LSAT Flex in…
Advice: Lock in freshman year for the GPA. Don’t be a splitter. I started fixing my grades junior year fall and have had As and A+s since. Retaking classes that I previously got Ds in, so my school GPA is higher than LSAC’s. If I could do it all over again with the knowledge I have now I’d definitely devote myself…
Applied late in Feb to most schools with my Jan LSAT score of a 153. After getting rejected by 4 schools within 2 weeks, I kept the rest of my apps on hold until the April LSAT score was released (4/30/25). My advice is take the LSAT as early as possible and apply as early as possible. Also before you submit an…
Obi-Wan Kenobi: You have allowed this dark lord to twist your mind, until now, until now you’ve become the very thing you swore to destroy. Anakin Skywalker: Don’t lecture me, Obi-Wan! I see through the lies of the Jedi. I do not fear the dark side as you do. I have brought peace, freedom, justice, and security to…
