…to say they are holistic, but that is demonstrably BS. Soft’s only help at the margins. Don’t be too hard on yourself.- Attending any law school period is already a difficult feat in and of itself. Do not compare yourself to people on Reddit, having crazy high stats is not the norm. Every attorney I had ever met…
…did not have any conventionally prestigious fellowships or softs, my extracurriculars were pretty standard, my interview skills are subpar. I suspect what helped my app was a combination of: Good writing Exceptionally supportive recommenders Work experience relevant to my legal interests - not conventionally…
…it’s always hard to talk about improving GPA and other softs, as everyone’s circumstances are different. But LSAT studying is something that I think everyone should really try to carve out at least a solid two to three months studying for. Besides that, I consider myself a pretty generic applicant. The main thing…
GRE 282 GPA 2.34 2025–26 cycle
The only advice I have at this current time is your LSAT and LSAC GPA are everything…don’t let them lie to you about the “Softs” lol. I should have studied more and taken the LSAT in place of the GRE, because I noticed the process is longer with the GRE…even when you mark it in your application that you will be…

…good stats, but I had very little work experience and my softs really and truly were not that impressive. I have a gut feeling that my rec letters where a big part of why I did as well as I did. I asked two of my professors—and I didn’t just ask them, I sat down and had a conversation with them about my future goals…
…and at my Undergrad and Grad GPA, as well as my other softs. Some could argue how will I pass the Bar then? My job now is entirely flexible and we already schedule off 3 months I will need to focus on studying only when it comes to that time. I would also like to point out that the LSAT and the Bar are entirely…

…median for both LSAT/GPA at my first choice school and my softs were kind of meh, and I firmly believe that my personal statement is what ultimately got me in the door.

Unless you have superior softs, a 174+ with a 4.0, it’s going to be a hard run. Start very very early. If you’re in the midst of studying like crazy and the LSAT you get will not get you into the tier you want or believe you can achieve then discard the score. I increased my LSAT from 158 to 166 to 171. I chose to…

LSAT is not everything. Strong softs, great essays, strong letters—those count a LOT ! Breathe and do not check reddit too often.

First some softs and bio, I’m a 30 year old trans woman who had multiple careers before going to law school, I was a chef, then baker, then sales woman for an automotive manufacturer. Some hard stats, My technical GPA is 3.17…
…the “shoot your shot” advice. In my experience with good softs (imho), I didn’t get in anywhere if I was under medians.
