Admitted to New England Law | BostonApply wide. Really wide. Embarrassingly wide. Then let the dust settle and make the smartest boring decision available. Prestige is a fine thing until you’re paying for it with money you don’t have chasing outcomes that aren’t guaranteed. The humble path taken confidently beats the prestigious path taken anxiously…
I knew after I got my second score as a 148 after consistently scoring in the 160s during my PTs I was going to have to reapply. However, I wanted to apply to about 7 schools just to see how much my other materials might pull through and allow my data to help someone else researching. You’ll see me back again for…
Get your materials ready ASAP. I got mine ready to apply in the previous cycle, realized I would get no scholarship money so I waited for the next cycle since I had the ability to do so fortunately. With that I definitely feel it has benefitted me in the scholarship department. Also really think about where you…
LSAT 155 GPA 2.80 2025–26 cycle
Attending (Part-time) University of Dayton
I took the JD Next and got a 765, which was the 72nd percentile in my cohort. I didn’t do so well during my first two years in community college due to homelessness, so I got a 2.1 gpa. When I transferred to FIU, I did much better and graduated with a 3.65 gpa, cum laude. Unfortunately, LSAC rounded my gpa to a 2.8…
dont crash ur car before ur lsat!
I saw the most improvement on my LSAT score with LSAT Demon, listening to their podcast and using their LSAT study program. One big motto they have is to “get greedy” with your LSAT score, meaning don’t settle for an “okay” score - you can improve your score, and even one point can mean thousands of dollars in…
I can only attend part time in Boston area, so that’s where I applied. With my mediocre gpa, I believe my good LSAT and engaging personal statement got me acceptances and scholarships of various amounts. Top choice was Northeastern, but New England law gave me a full ride and I’d rather attend a low ranked school…
My wife became sick so I had to drop out after my university withdrawl date to take care of her, and I was rejected a medical hardship form. This tanked my GPA. I’m grateful I managed to find a school, but if you’re reading this, your GPA matters, make sure its as high as possible before applying. If you dont have a…
It was like pulling teeth to get Ohio State to look at my application. I knew it was a reach, but still. I emailed them, received a response a few days later that they would check with the admissions committee about my application, and I was rejected the next morning. Disappointed that I waited over three months for…
My goal is to graduate with as little debt as possible, ideally none :)
It’s been 5 years since I graduated college and I took the LSAT so it’s never too late.
Shot my shot at HLS and YLS but I realistically know I have no chances. I’ll just make memes about my rejections when I get them. International, coming from a somewhat obscure country. Some legal experience, two B.A. theses, club president. Dean’s list. President’s list. LGBTQ+. First one in family to even attempt…
— Apply much earlier in the cycle than I did. Schools are more likely to take a chance on someone earlier in the cycle. — Update: I am differing my acceptance to UMiami for a year and will attend UMiami as part of the class of 2026. — Another update: not going to law school! Becoming a social worker instead! Kinda…
If you really really want to go to a school but are not confident you can get in, book a campus tour and bring in your best self that day so that you can meet in person with someone from the admission team and help them put a face to your application. Don’t wait for others to decide your fate, schedule your own…
Take the year to boost your score and apply early in the next cycle.
There are these two young fish swimming along and they happen to meet an older fish swimming the other way, who nods at them and say, “Morning boys. How’s the water?” And the two young fish swim on for a bit, and then eventually one of them looks over at the other and goes, “What the hell is water?”
Getting 4 points higher on the lsat than someone whos gpa is .5-.6 points higher becuase they majored in Communications and watching them get higher scholarships than me is infuriating. If youre in college, major in art, NUMBER BIGGER is all that matters, no degree of difficulty is weighed.
