Apply wide. Really wide. Embarrassingly wide. Then let the dust settle and make the smartest boring decision available. Prestige is a fine thing until you’re paying for it with money you don’t have chasing outcomes that aren’t guaranteed. The humble path taken confidently beats the prestigious path taken anxiously…
Get your materials ready ASAP. I got mine ready to apply in the previous cycle, realized I would get no scholarship money so I waited for the next cycle since I had the ability to do so fortunately. With that I definitely feel it has benefitted me in the scholarship department. Also really think about where you…
Pay as much money as you can to do well the LSAT, especially if you are a splitter. A few thousand on a course can make up for tens of thousands in scholarships. Originally applied to 5 schools 2020-21 cycle with a 15low and got 4/5 waitlists, no acceptances. Reapplying this cycle with higher LSAT and fingers…
GPA is low due to a heavily abusive relationship in college that ruined the first 3 years of my undergraduate. The final year was a great bounce back, but obviously only does so much. Some offers are definitely better than others. It seems a lot of schools are not willing to look past the GPA despite writing an…
My goal is to graduate with as little debt as possible, ideally none :)

If you really really want to go to a school but are not confident you can get in, book a campus tour and bring in your best self that day so that you can meet in person with someone from the admission team and help them put a face to your application. Don’t wait for others to decide your fate, schedule your own…
Apply early, but if you aren’t just know that applying late doesn’t close all the doors in your legal journey. I applied late and got into one of my top two schools.
There are these two young fish swimming along and they happen to meet an older fish swimming the other way, who nods at them and say, “Morning boys. How’s the water?” And the two young fish swim on for a bit, and then eventually one of them looks over at the other and goes, “What the hell is water?”
FireFly left no wisdom for posterity… (◕︵◕) Going to Willamette in the fall! If you decide to apply to law school and have a decent chance of getting into a particular school, don’t apply early decision. If you do, you can’t leverage other scholarship offers for scholarship reconsideration.

Apply more broadly than you think is necessary, especially if applying in Feb/March. Apply as early as possible! I had no LORs from any academic source, only from my work supervisors. I think this played a significant role in admission decisions.
My LSAT makes me proud. It isn’t the highest but I was able to accomplish it while completing my undergrad (with honors) and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa—all while raising a toddler by myself. Don’t let statistics define your dreams.
Sometimes the obvious choice isn’t the best choice. Be confident in your decision and dreams and let it drive your future!
