Admitted to University of TulsaMy priority was staying out of debt, so I used this site to maximize my scholarship potential. You should too! I didn’t apply to any “reach schools”, only schools were people with similar stats got a decent scholarship. My number one piece of advice is to prioritize staying out of debt over rank or prestige. I’ve…
Applying during the 2024-2025 cycle. Currently in grad school and will update throughout the year. Used fee waivers for all application fees and all but 10 CAS fees. Did not negotiate with any school since most got back to me after I was happy with other offers.
LSAC slaughtered my GPA (how the fuck do withdrawals count?). My LSAC GPA is actually sub-2. Degree GPA is 3.1. I wrote a really nice addendum. LSAT Strategy- I had an extremely demanding job while studying for LSAT. I’m fine at LR and RC, so I just spent all possible time doing logic games over and over and over…
Shoot your shot! Apply to as many schools as you can. LSAT scores aren’t everything, and as long as you have a strong application, it should be fine. Apply to safeties, target, and reach schools, you never know where you’ll get offers. Admission decisions are unpredictable and different for each school. Keep your…
I hope my applications show you guys that even with a low gpa you should still chase your dreams. Working full time made studying for the LSAT hard. I spent about 3 months using 7 sage doing the core curriculum. I never finished it and only took a diagnostic and 2 practice LSAT’s. My biggest factors that helped me…
I am starting this profile to show everyone what the admissions cycle is like for someone with poor grades in their undergraduate studies. I will update regularly with test information, schools I am applying to, and how I fare in the admissions process. I am hopeful, but pragmatic. Good luck to everyone. End of…
Use your softs wisely. I am 100% convinced my scholarship money came from my softs, I used my personal statement to explain my low GPA (mom had leukemia throughout my undergrad) but I explained how this made me stronger, more focused, and taught me how to overcome adversity. For schools where my GPA was below the…
Former Intelligence Officer. Disabled Veteran. Worked for NSA, Army, DOD. Company Commander in Afghanistan. Meritorious Service Medal. Graduated Undergrad in 3 years. Masters Degree in Education at 22. 30 years old at time of applications. GI Bill. Your Veteran status does NOT matter. You are not going to receive…
Wait as close as you can until the seat deposit deadline before attempting to get scholarships reconsidered.
Your spouse/partner will make or break your career. I hit a home run with my wife.
Love y’all! R&Ring and going for it HARD next year. Watch this LSAT score jump, baby!! xoxo!! Grown-ass woman (lesbian, formerly homeless child, first to graduate college/first to go to grad school, current legal-themed brewery owner, chronic illness, AmeriCorps) who decided to chase her dream of law school after…
I focused really hard on my personal statement and other materials to paint a very clear picture of my goals in law school as well as important aspects of my undergraduate career that highlighted areas of growth. Also, I was heavily involved in extracurriculars, which I think showed that I could handle high stress…
email and ask for fee waivers if you have even mildly competitive stats for that school on that note, budget for your application cycle, I ended up spending about $1200 between apps and the lsat, and that’s on the low end there’s so much info on law schools, especially between this site and the ABA 509 disclosures.…
Phone Interviews are a great chance to make a good impression and speak to admission about your legitimate concerns and serious interest in the university’s program. Be polite and professional. Send a “thank you” email following the interview. 100% always get the LSAT score preview. It is worth the extra cost.
(◕o◕) Definitely email schools you like or schools you know that give out CAS waivers and ask. The worst they can do is say no. Clearly I got a “few” applications this way haha. This process is already so expensive so save money where you can! Only apply to schools you would attend!!
Just give your best. That is all anyone can ask you for.
UGA or bust! applying ED to UGA. wish me luck… *retaking LSAT in Oct. since my average before June was a 169. Shooting for 170+ “Never, ever, EVER give up.”- Michael Scott Update: got a 169 in October!
