I am going to law school no matter what — Reverse splitters unite 🩷 UPDATE Mar. 2026: Seat is secured 🎂 I found my calling heading into my third year of college, though I’m a “KJD” on paper, I’ve already found my life’s work. I’m a first-gen lawyer that doesn’t know what I’m doing. I credit a lot of my knowledge to…

Admitted to Washburn UniversityI feel incredibly grateful for how my cycle turned out. Last year, I was admitted to only one school. I applied late (after February), with a lower LSAT and essays that I cringe just thinking about now. This year was completely different. I applied to nearly every school in October and November with a significantly…
My priority was staying out of debt, so I used this site to maximize my scholarship potential. You should too! I didn’t apply to any “reach schools”, only schools were people with similar stats got a decent scholarship. My number one piece of advice is to prioritize staying out of debt over rank or prestige. I’ve…
Applying during the 2024-2025 cycle. Currently in grad school and will update throughout the year. Used fee waivers for all application fees and all but 10 CAS fees. Did not negotiate with any school since most got back to me after I was happy with other offers.
My GRE score had me in the second percentile, literally. Just dumb as a box of rocks when it comes to testing. But I did it. I got in and it’s in the 90-110 ranking too! Fall 2022 - Last Minute as of 07/31/2022 in most cases I had applied to about 10 schools for Fall 2022 literally at their deadlines. I was rejected…
Never reveal everything you know.
I hope my applications show you guys that even with a low gpa you should still chase your dreams. Working full time made studying for the LSAT hard. I spent about 3 months using 7 sage doing the core curriculum. I never finished it and only took a diagnostic and 2 practice LSAT’s. My biggest factors that helped me…
Apply as early as possible! With exactly the same numbers, your profile is more powerful in September than it is in March.
Wait as close as you can until the seat deposit deadline before attempting to get scholarships reconsidered.
The earlier you can start planning and setting goals for your future the better. Knowing that I wanted to go to law school even before my first day of undergraduate helped me prioritize school and my GPA throughout my college experience. Also, real-world EXPERIENCE is worth its weight in gold. Beg, borrow, and…
Apply wide. Really wide. Embarrassingly wide. Then let the dust settle and make the smartest boring decision available. Prestige is a fine thing until you’re paying for it with money you don’t have chasing outcomes that aren’t guaranteed. The humble path taken confidently beats the prestigious path taken anxiously…
Take the LSAT early even if you feel like you’re not fully ready in August or October. Don’t take your first attempt in January like I did. As you can see, a low score clearly makes things harder even when the rest of your app (GPA, resume, letters) is strong like mine was. I doubt I would’ve even gotten waitlist…
Phone Interviews are a great chance to make a good impression and speak to admission about your legitimate concerns and serious interest in the university’s program. Be polite and professional. Send a “thank you” email following the interview. 100% always get the LSAT score preview. It is worth the extra cost.
(◕o◕) Definitely email schools you like or schools you know that give out CAS waivers and ask. The worst they can do is say no. Clearly I got a “few” applications this way haha. This process is already so expensive so save money where you can! Only apply to schools you would attend!!
Never hate your enemies, it affects your judgement.
Don’t settle for your first LSAT score!! I took the LSAT 3 times. I started volunteering at my local legal clinic. I knew my gpa wasn’t great and found ways to get my soft stronger.
You miss 100% of the shots you do not take.
A lot of scholarship, location, and support system factors made Nebraska an easy decision for me and I love my interactions with Dean Moberly.
