I feel incredibly grateful for how my cycle turned out. Last year, I was admitted to only one school. I applied late (after February), with a lower LSAT and essays that I cringe just thinking about now. This year was completely different. I applied to nearly every school in October and November with a significantly…

Admitted to Rutgers UniversitySo, the Application season is upon us, and I’ll do my damndest to share every step of the process from my end. My stats will remain updated but I will also admit that I have Character and Fitness issues that include arrests for theft and fraud over a decade ago. So, let’s begin: DECISIONS ACCEPTED!!! GW: Applied:…
I went to Maryland Law for my 1L year (2022-2023) and then transferred doing the early decision program to Georgetown for 2L/3L (2023-2025). I had a 3.8ish GPA from Maryland (top 15% or so) when I applied to transfer. I got into Georgetown and GW as a transfer student! Go Hoyas 🐾💙🤪
All it is going to take is one “yes.” That’s it.

Everyone says this, but APPLY EARLY. September/October. I think application timing materially affected my outcomes at OSU, FSU, and Iowa. Get em in by Halloween and you’ll also have most decisions back by Jan.
OVERALL ADVICE: APPLY EARLY EARLY. I felt my applications were submitted almost a little bit late. I wasn’t able to catch the “early” wave. I had a handful of people look over my PS. I would recommend maybe two or three max. Make sure your personal statement goes back to “Why law school”. I wrote an addendum…
Don’t get to held up on the “name” of the school, just go where you can be successful and achieve your specific goals. My main goal was to pay as little as possible for law school/COL while still attending a non-predatory school. Due to this motivation, I turned down schools with bigger names, higher ranking, and…
Most of what worked for me as a splitter–I assume that’s why you’re reading this–is what you would expect (difficult major + writing ability + significant work experience) and doesn’t lend itself to “advice.” I did, however, think about how to address a downward trend in my grades. My GPA is low because of my final…
Applying for law school after graduating a year early in 2021 with a degree in political science. I took my first LSAT in August 2022, retook it in October and scored 165. Was debating on taking the LSAT once more in January but ultimately decided against it because I wanted to finish applying to schools before the…
I recommend studying at least 6 months for the LSAT, and like, really studying. If I could do it over, I would have studied all winter/spring and taken it early in the summer. That way you can retake it in late summer/early fall if necessary, and still apply relatively early in the cycle. I would also start jotting…
LSAT Studying: I used 7sage and supplemented with the PowerScore Bibles. After my first LSAT (171), I used the Loophole which took me from -4ish LR to -1ish, also helped my RC. Most helpful of all, about a month before my first LSAT I found an online study group. We BR’d PTs together. Having to explain my reasoning…
Be ugly. Be well. Work hard. Believe in yourself. Take deep breaths. Life is a journey. These schools don’t control your destiny. You do. Be well. Be ugly. 5/9/2023 edit: Now that all the schools have gotten back to me, I’ll say this - I’m pleased with the results I got given my statistics, especially given my low…
A sub 3 GPA really hammers you on the 50/50 schools. But got some great results and $$ at the 80-90% schools. Weird as if those schools are behaving as if I have the options at the reach schools. Applied to 30 schools because im insane
If I could do it over I would apply to more T14s, even those I have no interest in, just to have more leverage in scholarship negotiations.
Trust in God’s plan man!
Applied w/ a 3.76. Went up to a 3.84 mid cycle. Cardozo twice (completely unprompted) increased scholarship 2X. Was initially offered 35,000 a year in my acceptance. In mid March, I was informed it had been increased to 40,000 a year, and then finally 2 weeks later I recieved another email telling me I was being…
There is no such thing as a perfect application in this world. No essay will be up to your exacting standards (you’re a law school prospect, I know that you’re a perfectionist). No diversity statement will seem heartbreaking enough. No supplemental essay will seem substantial enough. To you, the perfectionist, I say…
