What follows is a comprehensive explanation of my application path to law school. I originally created this document as a PDF for a group of incredible mentees. Time will be your greatest asset or your worst enemy- I began preparing two years before the 2024 application cycle. I’ve divided ‘my story’ into nine…

If you are in undergrad and you know you want to go to law school, don’t graduate with a low GPA. Definitely don’t graduate with a sub-3 GPA. Ask me how I know. Just keep taking classes until you can get it up as high as you can. If you’re already out of undergrad and you fucked up and got a low GPA (especially if…
All it takes is one, never forget that. (◕‿◕) As I have finally paid my first deposit on April 13, 2026 (Yay!), I wanted to leave a few thoughts here for anyone who might be reading this. I know nothing, so take everything I write with a grain of salt. GPA and LSAT will get you in the door, softs will make or break…
You need support, and whatever that means in terms of you. The journey to law school is a long, drawn out process. If you’re like myself, being first-gen, I had no clue what to expect (my advice also applies to Non-Trad applicants because as we get older relatability becomes more difficult because everyone’s lives…
You’ve already achieved goals you said would make you happy.
I was honestly shocked by my results. Given my numbers, I didn’t expect to get waitlisted at Penn State or OU. They were reaches for me, like most schools I applied to. I genuinely think it was due to my strong personal statement and unique softs. But we’ll never know, so take my opinion with a grain of salt. If I…
Work hard, get into the best school you can, but don’t beat yourself up. If you can, listen to Malcom Gladwell’s episode of Revisionist History about law school and the LSAT titled “The Tortoise and the Hare” to give you perspective. The practice timed runs for exams are helpful for timing pressure, but they are…

You stats aren’t the only thing that matters. Ensure your softs are as strong as they can possibly be If you choose to be on reddit, be kind and seek reasonable advice (however people’s opinions aren’t the end all be all) Again, if you choose to be on reddit, be kind. Law schools are on reddit too Shoot your shot,…

Yesterday is not ours to recover, but tomorrow is ours to win or lose. -LBJ Quit letting people tell you what you can and can’t do: Tanked my GPA my freshman year of undergrad (with F’s) and dropped out of college to focus on working. Returned to finish undergrad while working full-time and proceeded to earn a 4.0…
I didn’t write any additional essays. I also focused my personal statement specifically to Arkansas and Mississippi. I worked since I graduated high school and obtained a director role while raising 3 children. So though my lsat score wasn’t great and my gpa looks terrible, the last two years I got all As but during…
If you work hard and trust in God’s plan, you’ll end up where you’re meant to be.
Apply early (december at latest). I was caring for a sick relative and couldn’t apply until March. It was a big mistake, but I got into a school I liked and decided not to R&R. A strong LSAT will balance out a bad GPA, get some strong rec letters either from work or professors (hopefully both), and shoot your shot.…
My goal is to graduate with as little debt as possible, ideally none :)
I genuinely had no idea if I could even get into law school, but its possible!
GPA is out of 4.0 scale. I am a history major currently going into my Senior year of University and studying for the August and October LSATs! I hope to post some of my scores and positive vibes as I go! I also plan on taking the GRE, and will post how that affects my acceptance as well.
