here to give hope to reverse-splitters 🥰 dont listen to reddit - application materials > lsat score!! I was told by pre-law advisors/reddit to not even bother applying to half the schools i applied to, and I ended up receiving 2 T-14 full-tuition scholarships this past cycle let the admissions process be a personal…
STAY OFF OF r/lawschooladmissions! Unless you have one super specific question, all that subreddit will do is make you anxious. Just fill out your apps and chill! The stats on LSD aren’t definitive either– the people who post their stats exhaustively on here are probably skewed towards the higher end of scores. Try…
If you are a BIPOC, low-income, first-gen college grad, send in that application even if you aren’t at the medians!!! Stay true to yourself in your application and apply early, so long as you do that the sky truly is the limit! Below are a few LSAT and application tips I found to be helpful: Tips for apps Ask for…
So, the Application season is upon us, and I’ll do my damndest to share every step of the process from my end. My stats will remain updated but I will also admit that I have Character and Fitness issues that include arrests for theft and fraud over a decade ago. So, let’s begin: DECISIONS ACCEPTED!!! GW: Applied:…
Study for the LSAT as soon as possible. If Your PT’s are not going up, seek a tutor. Pick an undergrad major you are skilled in, in order to keep your GPA as high as possible. Take multiple classes with professors in order to secure LORs from them (Obviously, professors with legal experience make the best letters).
Applying during the 2024-2025 cycle. Currently in grad school and will update throughout the year. Used fee waivers for all application fees and all but 10 CAS fees. Did not negotiate with any school since most got back to me after I was happy with other offers.
Zzeengo left minor wisdom for posterity (◕_◕). Start your apps early to give yourself time for mishaps and a better shot at getting acceptances/scholarships. For most people, you’re going to underestimate the time it takes to put everything together.- Write your essay about what you are passionate about. Seriously-…
Applied mostly by the end of December and by the end of January Accepted into ASU, withdrew after poor scholarship Accepted into UIUC off the WL (sent 1 LOCI on 04/19/25), withdrew after being denied further scholarship consideration Accepted into WashU off the WL (sent 1 LOCI on 04/18/25), put down 2 seat deposits…
Take undergrad seriously! Ask for letters of rec three months before you plan to send in apps. Take frequent breaks to avoid burnout when studying for the LSAT. Get involved in extracurricular activities that aren’t academic! Write LOCIs when waitlisted if you are serious about attending a school. Wishing you the…
You’ve only got one shot at life. Make the most out of it.
Hey, you’re probably reading this because you have similar stats to me. Welcome, super splitter! I used this site as my guiding light when applying for the 2024 cycle. I always appreciated the “wisdom for future generations” on profiles that actually wrote something, so here are my scattered thoughts that I wish…
Worked in state government as an aquatic biologist for about fifteen years, so I knew from the get-go environmental law was my main focus. Nearly all my statements - and in most cases I completed every optional essay available for each application - centered on environmental advocacy and my experience within the…
Apply to schools in order of last choice to first choice. This will allow you more time to find mistakes you may have missed in documents. Apply as early as possible. Don’t be afraid to retake the LSAT; your score might just surprise you and save you a couple of thousand dollars (or maybe tens or hundreds). However…
Applying Truly, apply anywhere you want to go (finances willing). You don’t want to leave any stone unturned- If you can, try to have a least two safetys Nothing is guaranteed in this process. Most schools do not admit in a predictable pattern or timeline and even if they do, you can always be surprised. When I…
Macro thoughts: So clearly I applied to way too many schools. I’m very debt averse and wouldn’t pay sticker anywhere. My cycle was a rollercoaster as I did not hit 170 until November, a year after I started studying with PS trilogy, 7sage, and RC Hero. I planned on applying with 163 from June and August, but was…
Decided to go to law school late 2020. Second career. Previously a teacher for 6 years. Studied using 7sage Dec-June went 156-169. My references were undergrad professors who aren’t professors anymore and taught me 9 years ago. No amazing softs. I applied with a goal of writing myself as a future public interest…
WHY DIDN’T YOU APPLY TO MORE T14 SCHOOLS? -I’m not Biglaw/Federal Clerkship or bust, so I don’t need them -Not eager to take out 250k in loans for extra clout -Didn’t like the vibe of the school, didn’t want to live in the area, or didn’t care enough about it to pay the application fees…
Not everyone has to have the same résumé – in fact, I encourage you to be unique (Being a political science major and doing legal internships over the summer is not the only path) Without rushing, apply as early as you can*. It shows initiative, organization, and interest – also you beat out the hordes of other…
